Life at GitHub
We work together to solve challenging problems, leading with curiosity, kindness, and a shared passion for GitHub’s mission.
Love gaming, artisan coffee or puppies? Looking for book recommendations or travel hacks? You name it, we probably have a Slack channel for it. Join a community or affinity group and connect with Hubbers who share your interests, experiences or passions.
Remote Culture
As a remote-first company from the start, we know how to do remote. We have the communication tools, resources, and years of practice to ensure Hubbers feel connected and empowered.
Create a home office that meets your environmental needs and preferences. Take care of your family, walk the dog, commit to that exercise class, work early or night owl hours. Our employee benefits let you build work around your life.

One thing I love about GitHub culture is the small ways we are constantly improving our own way of working and everyone’s enthusiasm for innovating. There are always new automations, hacks, and ideas that make it easier to do my job and Hubbers generously share their knowledge. It’s a great place to nerd out!"

Communities of Belonging
Belonging matters, and you can find kindred souls even in a remote-first, global company. Hubbers can join one or more of our Communities of Belonging (CoB), where regardless of your time zone, background, or interests, you can find your community.
I've been here since the inception of the Communities of Belonging (specifically the Octogatos), and it has profoundly altered my perspective on companies. Within our CoB, we foster a culture of mutual support, not only internally but also by extending a helping hand to LatinX communities through volunteering. We actively strive to attract more LatinX talent to GitHub while simultaneously sharing our unique culture through both internal and external events."
